What role will AI play in the daily lives of tomorrow's communicators?

For several months now, a number of artificial intelligence platforms and media have been on the rise. Their rapid development has prompted us to question the future of the events industry, and the place this new technology will occupy in our daily lives.

As more and more media outlets speculate on the impact that artificial intelligence will have on our businesses, opinions are numerous and widely divergent. Some speak of a veritable revolution in the world of work, while others point to the risk of obsolescence for many professions.

It's hard to see clearly, so we did our own research to find out more about what's at stake for our profession, but above all to determine whether the future of event management is threatened by the development of artificial intelligence such as the ChatGPT language model.

The least we can say is that we're not the only ones to have asked ourselves this question, since it's also the issue that Goldman Sachs has been working on, and has just published its report on the problem. And the figure is staggering, as no less than "300 million jobs worldwide could be eliminated by ChatGPT and its avatars".

What does ChatGPT think?

So who better to tell us?

We asked Chat GPT if: "In his opinion, will the future of communications professionals be threatened with the arrival of artificial intelligence?"

Here's what he replied:

"The arrival of artificial intelligence, including language models such as ChatGPT, have the potential to transform various aspects of professional communication. While AI may automate certain tasks, it is unlikely to directly threaten the future of communication professionals. On the contrary, this technology could even help professionals complement and enhance their capabilities."

Indeed, communications professionals play a crucial role in strategy creation, reputation management, message development and stakeholder interaction. AI can be used as a tool to improve the efficiency and accuracy of their tasks, providing them with relevant information and analysis.

However, it can never completely replace human skills such as creativity, empathy, contextual understanding and ethical decision-making.

In addition, communication professionals are needed to interpret AI results. Only they will be able to adapt AI-generated messages to the target audience and manage the emotional and relational aspects of communication.

What's in it for us? Nothing to worry about, according to our robot friend!

And what do we think at Mana Events?

As you know, we at Mana are convinced of the power of an event. We believe that creating a personal bond between professionals lays the foundations for a solid, sincere and therefore: lasting cohesion. So one thing's for sure: you won't be able to do without us anytime soon! And yes, unlike AI, we don't just provide you with ideas for improving your business. Our agency's core business is to give you an experience, create memories and inspire happiness in your employees.

Not even afraid!

After researching the subject, our team believes that AI can be a real tool for improving our achievements, but will never be able to match the support of a professional.

Nor will AI be able to listen to you: a fundamental element in transforming each collaboration into such a special bond. Last but not least, the strength of our agency lies in the fact that we offer you participative, tailor-made experiences that give participants a real bonding alchemy right from the outset.

The Mana team is well aware that the technological development of AI is still in its infancy, so rather than being wary of it, we've chosen to learn how to work with it and draw positive conclusions from it.

And let's not forget that the hallmark of our Positive Events remains the power of smiles, so we don't know about you, but we haven't yet come across an AI capable of giving you a smile!
