The new Mana Evénements production: team building Camargue Olympics

What is the Olympiades team building?

Olympiads are a classic in team building. As we explained in a previous article, over the course of a day or half-day, your employees will be placed in different teams and will have to compete against each other. Each time they win an event, they earn points. By joining forces, they can accumulate these points to claim the podium and be the overall winner. You can establish a recurrence each year by putting the trophy back into play.

There are many themes to choose from: superheroes, koh-lanta, Friday anything goes, the 80's, ... These include a wide range of activities to choose from, mixing mental, creative and physical activities to suit as many people as possible. We've already given you a few examples in the previous article, but there's also :

  • Giant Memories: In relays, a test of memorization and communication to find pairs and win the game.

  • Giant Pictionary: Players take it in turns to draw a word on a company theme. They then have to get their team members to guess it by drawing on flipcharts.

  • Drunk ball: Famous game from the TV show Vendredi tout est permis, you'll have to score as many goals as possible after completing the 10 rounds of death...

  • Chain mime: Teams position themselves with their backs to their teammates. At the start of the chain, the first team member is given a word, phrase or expression. The second team member must mime what he or she has seen, and so on. The winning team is the one where the last person in the chain finds what was given to the first.

·      Giant tic-tac-toe: Take turns blindly to win the game, using your team-mates' clues.

Love and cohesion

In addition to the competitive aspect of these days, the Olympiads call for solidarity, coordination, ingenuity and surpassing oneself. The aim, for you and for us, is to unite, federate and develop the team spirit of your employees in an innovative way. In other words, what we want to see is love and cohesion - everything we love at Mana Évènements.

A challenge, but not the only one...

What we also love at Mana is our beloved South, its history and traditions. And the Camargue is one of them. Between sea and land, legends and ancestral customs are rooted in our region and intertwine. The Camargue cross, for example, is made up of three elements:

  • The tridents of the gardians' cross, representing Faith

  • The fishermen's anchor, representing Hope

  • The heart of the Saintes Maries, representing Charity

Bullfighting traditions

These traditions include the Camargue races. Held in arenas, the raseteur's aim is to catch, either with his bare hands or with a hook, attributes attached to the bull's head (a cockade, tassels and strings). These races celebrate the courage of the bulls and the agility of the shavers. Abrivado: bulls are driven from the pastures to the bullring. The bulls are escorted by horsemen to guide them and ensure everyone's safety. Bandido, which takes the bulls from the arena to the field.

Stunning duels

There's also the Languedoc jousting, acrobatic duels on the water. Two boats clash, one red, the other blue. To the rhythm of drums and oboes, two men positioned on each boat and equipped with a pavois (shield) and a wooden spear try to knock each other into the water.

And many more ...

There are many other traditional games in our region. To name but a few, there's the “aiguillette” game. One after the other, riders are thrown at full speed and equipped with an aiguillette (wooden spear) to aim and catch a ring.

There's also the bouquet game, a duel between two gardians. The first holds up a bouquet and is chased by the second, who must catch it. The story goes that the winner offers the bouquet to a damsel, who rewards the rider for his bravery and tenacity with a kiss.

The orange game, where the gardian, thrown at full speed, has to grab an orange from the palm of someone on the ground.

Finally, the horse-to-horse or horse-to-bull jump consists of the gardian jumping onto the beast to mount the horse, and the bull stopping the gardian.

These games demonstrate the dexterity and agility required of the gardian during his work.

In addition to the games, the South is also a vast territory of production and exploitation of all kinds: salt, rice, wine... all of which make up the delicious traditional dishes we love so much.

Now that we've introduced you to these beautiful traditions, it's your turn to play!

And yes, these traditions are part of our culture, and we're keen to pass them on to you, so we thought what better way than to bring together what we love: well-being at work, cohesion and the traditions of the South?

So we're offering you the chance to immerse yourself in a range of games, each more challenging than the last.

We then declare the Camargue Olympics open!

Based on the same principles as classic Olympiads, we've taken the greatest Camargue games and adapted them to your company and your group.

Don't worry, you won't be asked to ride a horse or catch bulls with your bare hands, though ...

Several events are available, including our revisited versions of the famous gardian games, such as the bouquet game, the mechanical rodeo, the cocarde race, tastings of local delicacies and other surprises...

And to keep a souvenir, we also offer you the chance to leave with a personalized pouch containing local products, olive oil, tapenade, cookies...

Ready to discover Camargue culture? The Mana Évènements team will be delighted to organize an unforgettable day for you.
