How can you make your events greener?

We can't stress enough that organizing events within your company is essential to the integration and cohesion of your teams. What's more, the issue of ecological responsibility is playing an increasingly important role in our lives, and organizing events has a real environmental impact.

Being «ephemeral», an event inevitably has a direct impact on the environment. However, doing without events and stopping organizing seminars, company parties and the like is not the solution, and it's up to us to take steps to play a significant role in this change.

In this respect, it's important to offer you eco-responsible events that respect notions of sustainability.

Enhance your image while raising employee awareness

In addition ato raising awareness among your employees, you'll be enhancing your image! Adopting one or more environmentally friendly initiatives has many advantages.

It allows you to be original and stand out from the crowd, communicate strong values and raise awareness among event participants and partners. In this way, you can involve your employees and teams in a common project that promotes values.

What's more, companies that opt for responsible practices see immediate economic benefits. Indeed, according to Forbes magazine, employees work better in "Green Certified" locations. They report that they concentrate better, get sick less and sleep better at night.

In addition, the Business News Daily study found that employees would be 16% more productive if companies made a commitment to the environment.

What's more, we can see that the younger generations are no longer just looking for a paycheck, but a job with real meaning. They are looking for companies with significant social and ecological commitments.

So, of course, Mana Événements is there to help you organize these impactful events. In addition to that, today we'd like to give you a few tips on how you can make a difference...

What does it mean in practical terms?

Choosing the right location

Local is ideal. Choosing a venue that is close to the majority of participants will minimize their travel time and carbon consumption.

Public transport or carpooling between participants is also a good option. It's also possible to choose venues that are themselves committed to an environmental approach, choosing local service providers, using eco-labeled products, etc...

Choosing what to eat

First and foremost, it's best to use reusable crockery and cutlery. What's more, you can brand the cups with your image. A souvenir of the event that participants can take home, or that you can re-use within your organization or at other events. If the occasion calls for it, you can also offer your staff logo-printed water bottles based on the same principle as the cups.

If you don't want to spend your budget on ecocups, your Mana événements events agency has invested in neutral ecocups (without our agency logo) which we can make available for your event.

As far as the food is concerned, wherever possible, opt for local, seasonal and, even better, organic produce. Today, more and more caterers are turning to this approach.

Choosing the right activities

According to a study by Wavestone, 75% of French people want to consume more locally and responsibly, from local businesses. This indicates that we need to be convinced of the sustainable impact of products and services before consuming them. We're refocusing more and more on natural, hand-crafted products, and on more authentic consumption. So propose activities in line with these new needs, calling on local producers of products that you're used to consuming, but where production isn't necessarily obvious to everyone. Let your participants discover or rediscover the simple things of everyday life. There are many possible solutions, such as a visit and tasting in the vineyards, an oyster farm, a honey farm or a visit to the salt marshes... Our Occitan region is rich in possibilities.

Our expertise at the service of your values

Mana Évènements is aware of the environmental impact of a unique event. That's why we strive to be as responsible as possible in every event we organize. On a day-to-day basis, we strive to promote the reuse of materials, to limit purchases and to recycle intelligently. On top of this, every year we donate 1% of the budget you allocate to your events to an environmental cause. In 2021, it was for Reforest Action to replant trees. In 2022, we hope to do the same for the Mediterranean Sea.

Finally, we want to surround ourselves with service providers in tune with these values and your needs, to offer you the best possible service.

Our aim is to work together to build more sustainable, meaningful events.
